Security Posts
Security Posts are an ideal solution to protect against vehicle theft from a home or business driveway. They provide excellent protection against Ram Raids or can be used to restrict access to a car park bay or passage.
Smethurst Security Posts are robust and secure. We supply three designs of Security Posts to meet your needs: telescopic security posts, removable posts or dropdown posts. All our Security Posts are of solid construction and are designed to sustain impact.
We have telescopic posts and other standard posts in stock with off the shelf collections/next day deliveries. We can also offer bespoke designs to compliment your corporate image/surroundings or to meet special geographical requirements.

Specification/Design:
All our Security Posts are:
- Galvanised to protect against rust and painted/coated as required.
- Of solid construction complete with securing padlock or locking mechanism. (Locks for multiple posts are supplied keyed alike and keyed to differ.)
Post Security Telescopic Posts:
- Height above ground (610mm) below ground (790mm).
- Post retracts fully into the ground for ease of use and discreet appearance.
Dropdown Posts:
- Height above ground in upright position (840mm) drops down to (105mm).
- Post drops down for ease of use but remains a visual deterrent.
Removable Posts:
- Height above ground (800mm) below ground (300mm).
- Flip down lip prevents debris from falling down when post is removed.
Installation:
Security posts are easy to install and are simply concreted in place.
The following can be used as a guide for telescopic security posts (installation is similar for other models).
- Excavate hole 50mm deeper than the model of post to be fitted.
- Lay 60mm of gravel into the bottom of the hole.
- Fit the post into the hole. (The top of the post should protrude by 10mm)
- Fill the hole to within 300mm of ground level with as dug material.
- Check post is vertically level and then concrete the rest of the hole.
